Gas Detection Asscociation of South Africa

Types of Membership:

The Gas Detection Association offers the following types of membership:

 

  • Full member - this member has full proportional power and rights as per the constitution of the association. Typically, these members will be involved, on a full-time basis, in distribution, sales and installation of Gas Detection equipment.
  • Installer member - this member will, after certification, be allowed to perform installations, calibrations, certifications, and commissioning of approved Gas Detection installations. The member can also act as a mentor to new installers once they have completed and been vetted on the pre-determined number of installations as per the GDASA constitution. All installers of Gas Detection equipment will need to apply for this membership to be able to install and certify installations, even if their company is already registered as a member.
  • Distributor member - these members will benefit from being able to distribute/sell their products bearing the GDASA logo one the products have been approved by the GDASA board. Installer members may also only use these approved products. All sellers of Gas Detection equipment that do not install will need to apply for this type of membership.
  •  Associate members will be involved in the decision-making processes of the association and will therefore be at the forefront of new decisions and regulations. Typically, these will be Architects, Gas Installation designers, Project Management Companies, etc.
  • Affiliate members will benefit by being fully informed of all the latest developments, regulations and equipment approvals in the Gas Detection industry. Fire departments, Approval Authorities, Heath and Labour Inspectors and the like will benefit from this type of membership.

 

Membership Fees:

 

 

  • Full member - R5,000 per annum
  • Installer member - R2,200 per annum
  • Distributor member - R3,000 per annum
  • Associate members - R1,500 per annum
  • Affiliate member - No fee payable, attendance of AGM is a pre-requisite
